Artist’s statement

My paintings are all about visual impact. Using intense colours my style is unafraid and constantly evolving. I opt for high dramatic background colouring that is almost luminous and highlights the subject focussing the eye on the lucid image. I have no set/rigid rule for my approach to painting , therefore the pictures are rich and varied and my approach remains boundless, almost impossible to define.

Daniel Meakin

Marianne Venderbosch

Marianne Venderbosch WorkMarianne Venderbosch is an artist living and working in the Netherlands. In her latest works she is inpired by human nature, body and soul.

In the serie called “Moods” she experimented in black and white acrylic and painted directly after model. The intensive sessions of concentration -lasting two to 6 hours- resulted in very expressive sketches where she captured different moods in the character of the model.

Urbisan Art

Inspired by the Land Art movement of the 1960s, the ‘Thoughtscapes’ collection has been informed by the texture of the landscape; the smoothness of the sea and curves of the earth juxtaposed by the rough and jagged edges of the man-made environment that surrounds us.

Each ‘Thoughtscape’ represents the natural evolution of the landscape; the ruin, decay and erosion of the materials and how this can apply to art and architecture, including the nature of time and its effect on the shapes and forms within the earth that create a process of dialogue with the environment.

‘Thoughtscapes’ are created using natural materials taken from within the landscape which are built up in layers and preserved over time. Further layers of acrylic paint and metallised pigment are applied before being set with a polyester resin encasement.
